Spurs managed to edge out Southampton 2-1 yesterday afternoon at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to register their first win in four matches in all competitions.
It was a much-needed win for the Lilwhites with the pressure having mounted on the team and Mauricio Pochettino due to the team’s poor results in recent weeks.
The win took Tottenham to 4th spot in the Premier League at least temporarily, with their rivals in action on later today and Monday.
The most impressive part of the victory was the character the team displayed after going down to ten men around the half hour mark.
Spurs had to defend deep after the interval with Southampton looking to make the most of their one-man advantage, only to be met by a spirited defensive performance from Mauricio Pochettino’s side
Harry Kane, who netted Tottenham’s all-important second goal, along with Toby Alderweireld and Erik Lamela have all taken to Twitter to commend the team’s effort after the win.

Spurs Web Opinion
This kind of win will go a long way towards helping the team regain their lost confidence as it was backs to the wall stuff for most of the second half. The players proved with that performance that they won’t shirk responsibility and are prepared to work hard to get over this poor run of form.
