Injured duo near Tottenham return

Tottenham Hotspur may be coping fine without two of their top goal scorers Harry Kane and Dele Alli, but they will certainly be looking forward to having them back in the side.

Kane picked up another ankle injury against Man United a month ago, with Dele Alli sustaining a hamstring problem just one game after.

The England stars have been out ever since, and were originally marked for an early March return, although both look to be ahead of schedule on that front.

Spurs have won their last four Premier League matches, and even beat German League leaders Borussia Dortmund 3-0 in the Champions League last week.

However, having Dele and Kane back would strengthen both the starting line up and the bench for Spurs.

The likes of Lucas Moura and Fernando Llorente would likely drop to bench roles, but both now have the confidence and game time under their belts to contribute as subs.

Hugo Lloris claims it is always better for injured stars to come back into a winning team.

He said (Daily Mail): “We all know it was a tough period in the last few weeks and it’s a good moment to switch off a little bit and enjoy time with our family and friends, and then to be back next week with a fresh mind and ready to work.

“It’s always better for the players being injured to come back to a winning team, it takes pressure off their shoulders.

“But we need everyone now, there are three or four months to go and we need to give our best.

“We know in football nothing is done and things can turn very easily if you don’t respect basics.

“We just need to forget about this result, keep the right feeling and confidence from this game because the second leg will be tough.”
