‘Kane is non-existent so far’ – Some Spurs react to first half performance against Sheffield United

There was a lot of optimism from Spurs fans going into Tottenham’s game against Sheffield United after Mauricio Pochettino uncharacteristically chose to name more or less the same team that drubbed Red Star Belgrade 4-0 on Thursday.

With Giovani Lo Celso making his first Premier League start, Spurs fans were excited to see what the Argentine can produce.

However, the team have been poor in the first half and have struggled to take control of the game. The only real chance Tottenham created fell to Harry Kane but the striker couldn’t get a good connection from Serge Aurier’s low cross.

Apart from that Lo Celso has had a couple of half-chances while Sheffield United created a couple of gilt-edged chances and even struck the woodwork.

Some Spurs fans were far from pleased with the first-half display and were left puzzled as to why the team has failed to get going.

Here’s how some fans reacted to the first half performance:

Spurs Web Opinion

While Spurs have struggled to get going, there were still a couple of occasions we split them open in the first half. While I am hopeful that we will manage to score, I am not quite so confident about our ability to retain the clean sheet. Pochettino needs to be proactive with his substitutions if we don’t start well in the second half
