Several of Tottenham’s players have taken to social media to reveal their delight at being able to get the better of Arsenal in Sunday’s all-important North London Derby.

The result not only ensures that Spurs have the bragging rights over their local rivals but also takes them above the Gunners in the table, giving them a great chance of qualifying for the Europa League.

Spurs’ performance was much-improved in comparison to their recent showings against Sheffield United, Everton, and Bournemouth.

The Lilywhites looked defensively solid and restricted Mike Arteta’s side to a few clear cut chances through the ninety minutes.

Jose Mourinho’s game plan worked perfectly as Spurs looked to counter Arsenal quickly when they won the ball back, which enabled them to fashion several opportunities.

It looks like the players, just like the fans, are over the moon with the win.

Here’s what Harry Kane, Giovani Lo Celso and Moussa Sissoko tweeted after the derby:

Spurs Web Opinion

I thought Jose’s approach was spot on as the 4-4-2 worked perfectly in allowing us to defend with two banks of four and spring forward quickly when we won the ball back. So far, we have learned that the counter-attacking system we employ, seems to work better against opposition that come out and have a go at us (Man Utd, Arsenal) compared to teams that prefer to sit back in a low-block.
