Kane on Madrid’s radar

Spanish news outlet Don Balon say Real Madrid are considering a summer bid for Harry Kane and are not deterred by the potential €200million (£177m) price tag write The Daily Mail.

Long term Tottenham foe,Madrid President Florentino Perez has been on the hunt for marquee striker for years recognising Cristiano Ronaldo’s advancing years. French forward Karim Benzema has recently held his place after winning favour with Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo but that will not deter Perez.

The report says Benzema ,however, is  now struggling to keep up with the high Madrid standards and shopaholic Perez is looking to finally bring a top striker to the Bernabeu, and of course at the moment, there are few better than our Harry.

The 24-year-old has smashed in  11 goals in all competitions, even with his August shut out, this season he looks well on his way to winning a third consecutive Premier League golden boot.

Since 28 February 2016, the Walthamstow-born star has scored an incredible 44 goals in the top flight, eight more than the next nearest player, Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero.

The article goes on to say that it is so early in his career, he has the potential to reach incredible heights in the game and the La Liga giants are prepared to spend big to get their man.

The article continues to say we will be very unwilling to sell our prized asset especially ahead of our move to the new stadium and that Daniel Levy, if he even entertains the idea, will likely look for something closer to the £198m that PSG paid to sign Neymar from Barcelona.

Sportsmail say they understand Kane will be handed the England captaincy on Thursday and he will move a significant step closer to becoming the next permanent captain of the national side, further increasing his stature.

Kane and the rest of the England squad take on Slovenia at Wembley in a qualifier that if they win, wil seal their place in next summer’s World Cup in Russia and in all likelihood Kane will retain the armband after wearing it in their last two ties against Scotland and France.

The article quotes England manager Gareth Southgate likening Kane to two former Premier League greats and praising  Mauricio Pochettino for helping him (Kane) become the player he is today.

‘You could see from the start that Harry was deadly,’ enthused Southgate. ‘The quality of finishing in training took me back to watching Alan Shearer and Robbie Fowler. It was a case of, “OK, can he transfer that into the matches?”

‘The biggest change has been physical. Since Mauricio has been at Spurs, their conditioning work has improved the team and Harry has benefited from that as much as anyone.

‘He looks strong, lean, a little bit quicker and sharper. When you know you’re in good physical condition, it has an effect on your mentality. You are in a better place.’

Rumours are something I believe we are going to have to put up with for a long time yet. Kane is on fire right now and is probably the hottest property in world football. However he’s committed to Spurs has said so regularly and I can’t see him going. What do you think. Will Harry be a one man team or will he be tempted by the Spanish way of life?
