Kane on the next step he hopes to take with Spurs this season

Harry Kane has declared his intention to go all out for a trophy next season as Tottenham embark on their first full campaign under Jose Mourinho.

Despite winning many individual accolades including two Premier League Golden Boots and a World Cup Golden Boot, Kane is yet to win a major club trophy in his career so far.

It was clear from Amazon’s ‘All or Nothing’ that the 27-year-old is no mood to rest on his laurels as he is seen conveying his desire to be among the best in the world, in a one on one chat with Mourinho.

The Spurs boss boasts of a fabulous record in his second season at the clubs he had previously managed and the striker will be hoping that he is the man who helps him break his trophy duck.

Kane has admitted that he has reached a point in his career where he needs to be winning trophies.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, the England captain said: “I’m at the height of my powers, as people like to say. I’m 27 and feeling good, feeling fresh.

“I’m excited (for the new season). It’s obviously down to what I do on the pitch and what we do as a team. But for me to take that next step as a player and try to progress as a player is to win those trophies.

“Obviously it’s great scoring goals and winning Golden Boots but, as I’ve said before, there would be no better feeling than lifting a trophy with my team-mates.

“That’s the ultimate goal. That’s what I’ll try to do and hopefully, this year can be a big year for club and country.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I believe Jose Mourinho would have got the squad believing that they are capable of challenging for the league title. While there is no way he will admit that publicly and put pressure on the team, he will not allow the players to settle for top four.

Of course, what we end up achieving is an entirely different matter. If we finish in the top four and win a trophy, it would be an excellent season for us. Unless we pick up some form of silverware, Kane will probably be off next summer.
