We may have only signed four players during the transfer window, but Harry Kane feels that Tottenham have a stronger squad than last season.
Mauricio Pochettino has brought in Victor Wanyama, Kevin Nkoudou, Vincent Janssen and Moussa Sissoko to the Spurs ranks over the course of the summer, but many fans were disappointed that the club did not strengthen further with the likes of Real Madrid’s Isco.
“I think we’ve got a stronger squad than last year,” Kane told Sky Sports. “We’ve added some great additions to the team. We’ve bought some great players in who have fitted in perfectly.
“So now we’re ready, we’ve got a lot of games, being in the Champions League against tough opponents. We definitely feel we’re ready to go and we’re stronger than last year.
“The performances haven’t been amazing. There’s still room to improve. But we’ve got some good results against some tough teams. We hope to kick on now like we did last year, get some wins and go from there.”
Fans will be looking to Kane to break his goalscoring deadlock on Saturday when we travel to Stoke City. Last season the England striker opened the scoring with a stunning curled shot from the edge of the box – it will be good for the player and also those who continue to doubt him.
Our prediction is a 2-0 win for Spurs, Kane and Eriksen with the goals.
