In Spurs’ second game of their tour os the USA, they triumphed over the New York Red Bulls, 2-1.

Robbie Keane and Gareth Bale got the all important goals for Spurs, turning around the scoreline after ex-Barcelona man, Thierry Henry put the Americans in front.

Harry Redknapp took time to single out his goalscorers for praise following the match, clearly pleased that Keane got himself back among the goals.

“Robbie needed it, he had a couple of opportunities tonight.

“He pulled off into some great positions as he always does, he just didn’t manage to finish one.

“But in the end he got there and then Gareth Bale did well for the other goal, so it was all good.”

Keane was happy to force his name on the scoresheet after spurning more opportunities and declared his excitement for the remaining friendlies.

“It was a good work-out for us and we look forward to the next coming games.

“Obviously I was playing up front on my own and it’s important to play on the shoulder and play in between people.

“I nearly got in a few times and in the end got a goal, and most importantly we got a win and I thought I lasted well today.”

  1. All this praise for Keene is unwarranted. He is so slow!! He missed several opportunities to score.Pav would do a better job.

  2. Can Keane just f**k off!!!! If not, i will be personally shouting abuse at him at the Lane in the coming season if he is still around………………….Yiddo Army, please join me!!

  3. Jesus, why do people act like this to Keano. Great player, has been different class to any of our other strikers and hope he is finding his feet again.

  4. Yeah he scored the first goal, but it was a tap-in and Keane only further proved that we don't need him any more.

If he put the same effort in to his game as he did his constant whinging and arm-raising then he'd be quality. But he's lost it. If we can get +£6mil then sell.

  5. totally agree jimmy, i wish people wud stop being so fickle and support him, rally behind a player that truly pushes the squad. yes he points and shouts so fckn wot just because he wants spurs to succeed he can't be vocal. Sum fans shud get off their high horse and thank the little gem. Rock on keane your a well worthy member of tottenham hotspurs

  6. Totally agree with jimmy. Stupid comments by idiot fans. The fact of the matter is that he is playing for spurs and we should support him while he’s here. Putting down our players does no one any look. Just look at arsenal!

    • a lot of people have short memories. cant remember all the years keane was banging in great goals for us. we wont win anything with negative shit talk.

  7. keano looked slow and very weak, against the red bulls and also in the previous game too,
he cant get past his marker, and will struggle in the premiership this season.
he had a few chances and didnt look dangerous ,
maybe the mls wud suit him, but i think he may struggle their too,
i have no hatred for keano, but i do love sours and have done for 30yrs plus , now the boy djalo for lisbon mmm my kinda player, pace skilfull and scores goals, 2 against citeh…..plays wide and also strait up top…wud b a great option 4 us
