Keane urged to move to Wolves

Stephen Hunt has urged Wolves to pip their Premier League rivals to sign Robbie Keane.

The Spurs striker is tipped to leave White Hart Lane this month and Hunt wants his Republic of Ireland team mate to return to the club where it all started.

“Robbie’s a class player who would be a boost to most Premier League clubs once he gets a few games under his belt,” Hunt told the Daily Star.

“He needs games but his ability levels are not in question. He is already playing for a big club.

“Robbie has so much experience it would be a huge boost to everyone if he came here.”

Keane actually rejected the chance to re-sign for Wolves a year ago, choosing instead to go on loan to boyhood idols Celtic.

“Maybe last year wasn’t the right time for him in his career,” Hunt added. “He went to Celtic, which is magic for the Irish lads especially.

“But he was at Matt Murray’s farewell and he got a great response. It would be great if he came.”
