‘Keeping everything crossed for this’ – Some Spurs fans urge club to sign Eriksen replacement

According to FC Inter News, Tottenham Hotspur are among a long list of European giants who are tracking Ajax midfielder, Donny Van de Beek.

Spurs are said to be going up against the likes of Real Madrid, Inter Milan, and Liverpool for the Dutch international who is reportedly available for a fee of around €80million.

Christian Eriksen’s contract will run out at the end of the season and Spurs are said to be keen on offloading him in January as he has rejected new contract offers from the club (AS).

Van de Beek will be a natural replacement for the Danish international, having registered 17 goals and 13 assists in all competitions for Ajax last season (Transfer Markt).

Some Spurs fans on social media were extremely excited at the link and hoped that the club would be able to get a deal for the 22-year-old over the line in January.

Given the amount of interest in Donny Van de Beek and with the prices being branded about, it is extremely hard to see Spurs pulling off a deal for him in January. Perhaps someone like Bruno Fernandes would represent better value as the hype surrounding him seems to have gone down to an extent.
