Keown and Sutton agree on which teams will finish top four

The race for the top four places has really opened up after last weekend’s results. While Tottenham suffered their third straight away loss to Southampton on Saturday, their North London rivals Arsenal overcame Manchester United at home.

This means that only four points separate Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea, with the Blues having a game in hand over the other three teams.

With the race looking really tight, former Arsenal defender Martin Keown and former Chelsea striker Chirs Sutton have both offered their predictions on which teams will take the final two Champions League spots.

Both former England internationals agreed that Spurs and Manchester United will take the third and fourth spot respectively.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Keown said, “On August 6, a week before the start of this season, I predicted this top four and I’m standing by it.

“Pochettino is too good a manager to let Spurs slip and United’s reemergence under Solskjaer has been stunning to watch.”

Sutton meanwhile added, “Liverpool and Manchester City have the top two sewn up and it will be tight but I’m backing Pochettino to snap Spurs out of their tough run while Solskjaer will make sure United don’t dwell on the 2-0 loss at Arsenal.”

Spurs fans will be hoping both Keown and Sutton are right in their predictions as failing to qualify for the Champions League would be a major blow for the club particularly considering they will play their first full season at the new stadium next term.
