Kevin Danso left blown away by ‘unbelievable’ Tottenham teenager

Kevin Danso is in awe of the maturity that one Tottenham teenager shows both on and off the pitch, with the experienced centre-back convinced that the youngster is destined to reach the very top.

While Tottenham’s injury crisis has severely hampered the club’s prospects this season, the one silver lining to come from the bloated injury list is the fact that several teenagers have had opportunities to showcase their class.

Many of them have stepped up and demonstrated why there is so much excitement about their talent, none more so than Archie Gray. The former Leeds talent has surprised everyone with the way he has seamlessly slotted in at centre-back, a position he had not played before this season.

Kevin Danso reveals why his in awe of Archie Gray

Danso has partnered Gray on a few occasions since arriving at Tottenham Hotspur a little over a month ago and the Austrian cannot believe that his defensive partner is just 18 years of age, admitting that he carries himself like someone with a lot more experience.

The 26-year-old identified the Leeds academy graduate’s drive to keep learning as one quality that will ensure that he has plenty of success in the years to come.

When asked about Gray, Danso said (via Football.London): “Unbelievable, the fact that he’s 18, the maturity he plays with, the maturity with which he carries himself in the dressing room, it’s amazing, he’s a great lad and his quality has been on show for many weeks now.

“I think he’s just going to keep improving, because he’s only 18 and to already have that maturity in the way he plays football, and off the pitch, it’s something that’s going to take him a long way.”

Gray happy to play in any position for Tottenham

Some Spurs fans are desperate to see Gray given an opportunity in the number six role, which is considered by many to be the teenager’s best position.

However, Archie Gray has made it clear that he is happy to play any position at Tottenham, insisting that getting used to different roles will help him become a more complete player.

When asked about his favourite position, Gray said last week: “I’ve said it in loads of interviews, I don’t really care where I play or what position it is on the pitch. I’ll always work my hardest so it’s always the same.”
