Kevin Danso has spoken about the big shoes that he is being asked to fill in the absence of Cristian Romero in the Tottenham team.
The Tottenham captain was ruled out with a minor abductor issue against Aston Villa, and he will also miss the club’s upcoming Champions League clash against Monaco.
Spurs have a poor record without Romero in the team, and Thomas Frank will thus be hoping to have the Argentine back as soon as possible.
In the meantime, the responsibility has fallen on Kevin Danso to fill in for the 27-year-old, and the Austrian international has now spoken about replacing the challenge of replacing the former Juventus man.

Kevin Danso wants to do the best job he can for Tottenham
Danso showed his defensive exploits against Villa, delivering a solid performance, but many will feel that he does not offer the quality on the ball that the Argentine does.
The former Lens man has now admitted that he will play to his strengths and will try to fulfil the demands of the role as best as he can.
When asked about replacing Romero, whose passing is so crucial to the side, Danso responded (via Tottenham’s official website): “Definitely, but also just try to fulfil the role as best as I can. Obviously, he’s a very important player for us. For me, it’s just doing the job, defending first and foremost and trying to replace him in that instance as best as I can.
“I think it was an okay game (on Sunday), unfortunately, we didn’t get the result we wanted, but the aim is to win here tomorrow.”
Thomas Frank, who was also at the press conference, then chimed in with: “I think Kevin played a very good game against Villa.”
Danso offers a different weapon to Spurs
Danso has shown that he is solid defensively, but there is no doubt that Tottenham will miss Romero’s passing, with not many centre-backs in the world possessing the range that the Spurs captain does.
However, Danso offers Tottenham another weapon with his long throws, and set pieces may well make the difference in tight Champions League away games like the one the Lilywhites are set to face this evening.
The Austrian international is also vocal, a natural leader and vastly experienced, and he has shown that he can be relied upon whenever he has stepped into the team.
