Kevin Danso thinks Tottenham players just proved something about Thomas Frank

Kevin Danso has discussed what the feeling is among the Tottenham squad about Thomas Frank, and what he and his teammates can take from the win over Borussia Dortmund.

Some have suggested that Frank has already lost the Tottenham dressing room, but the Tottenham head coach begs to differ.

Speaking after his side’s 2-0 win against Dortmund, Frank insisted that his players have continued to work very hard through this difficult spell, with the 52-year-old seeing that as a sign of a positive culture at the club.

The Tottenham boss is still reportedly in danger of losing his job, but it appears that he still has the backing of his squad.

Kevin Danso admits Tottenham players are keen to show unity

While many supporters may have given up on Frank, Danso insists that that is not at all the case with the squad, as they showed on Tuesday.

He revealed that, amidst the ongoing rumours leading up to the Dortmund clash, the Spurs players spoke about needing to show unity and grind out wins.

When asked if the performance on Tuesday shows that the squad still has faith in their head coach, the centre-back said (via Football.London): “Definitely, we are all together. It’s down to us at the end of the day, we go on the pitch and every game we try to give our best.

“It’s also about when we’re not playing well, we need to try and stay in the game and get the results that we need. That’s the next step for us, even when it’s not going well, we need to try and win games and get results.”

When asked about the stark difference between the performance against West Ham and the one against Dortmund, the 27-year-old said: “I just feel like it’s a different competition, a different type of game, and we just know it’s a difficult phase right now.

“We’re together, and there was unity, we spoke during the week after the weekend and said we need to get our heads down and do a bit more to try and grind out the results.”

Danso believes Spurs showed what they are capable of

Danso admitted that the Lilywhites can take confidence from the fact that they beat a top Dortmund side, who sit second in the Bundesliga table and had lost only once in the Champions League prior to Tuesday’s fixture.

The Austrian is hopeful Tottenham can build on this result and translate their European form into the Premier League.

Danso added: “We know what we’re capable of, we just need to continue like that, home or away and just try and push on from the result today and the way we played. The frustration is there from the fans, we know and understand.

“We want to win games and that’s what we’re trying to do. We take it on board, but it’s down to us players on the pitch to do the best as possible and get the results we deserve. We showed again today that we’re a good side and we just have to keep going and try to do the same in the Prem.”
