‘Key to this’ – Ange Postecoglou comments on role Spurs fans are playing this season

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has insisted the club’s supporters are playing a key role in the rebuilding project he is undertaking in North London.

It may be early days, but things appear to be going rather well for Ange Postecoglou and his new-look Spurs team.

Initial concerns over the Australian’s appointment have been quickly allayed by the return of attacking football and Postecoglou’s own endearing charm.

After two wins and a draw from their opening three Premier League games, the Lilywhites currently find themselves joint-top of the table along with West Ham United following their win at Brighton earlier this evening.

The latest result, a convincing 2-0 win away at Bournemouth, was yet another display of aggressive, exciting, dominant football – also known as ‘Ange Ball.’

Postecoglou appreciates the support from the Spurs fans

Goals from James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski secured all three points for Spurs, but it was Postecoglou’s name that was being sung once again by the away fans on the south coast.

Postecoglou reiterated just how important the fans are to what he is building, he told Football.London: “They’re obviously a key part of this. We need their energy, and I thought they were outstanding again today.

What we’ve embarked on is not going to be easy. We’ve got a hell of a long way to go but if we have the most important people at this football club, the supporters, behind us that’s our way of giving back.”

“We work hard during the week to be ready for a game of football and I’m pleased that for the long ride home they’ll have smiles on their faces,” he added.
