“Kieran Trippier is the worst thing to happen to our club” – Some Spurs fans are furious

Tottenham went down 2-0 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in what was their second Premier League defeat in four days. It was a disappointing performance on the whole from Pochettino’s men as they failed to register a single shot on target in the ninety minutes.

The first half was a pretty cagey affair with neither side creating many clear cut chances but Spurs finished the half the stronger side. Spurs started the second half well but Chelsea opened the scoring against the run of play after Pedro went past Alderweiereld and squeezed the ball past Lloris.

Pochettino then brought on Llorente and Moura as Spurs chased the equaliser but despite huffing and puffing, they created very few openings. Kieran Trippier then produced a moment of madness to kill the game as well as Spurs’ title hopes.

Trippier has become an increasing focus of frustration for Spurs fans this season after making a number of mistakes following his return from the World Cup.

When the Blues played a hopeful ball over the top, Trippier and Lloris got into a terrible mix up as the England man ended up stroking the ball into the back of the net. Tottenham fans weren’t best pleased with the full back’s lapse in concentration.
