Kieran Trippier shows his worth – highest performing Prem right-back in this key area

Much has been said about Kieran Trippier this season, and many recent reports have linked the England star with a move away from North London.

Trippier had an astounding World Cup in Russia for his county, even scoring a free-kick in the semi-final against Croatia.

However, the right-back has failed to replicate this form for this club this season, putting in a number of sub-par defensive performances.

While Trippier has been a liability at times in defence, he has shown what he is capable of when moving in the other direction.

Squawka Football have revealed on Twitter that Kieran Trippier was actually the highest performing Premier League right-back last season in terms of chances created.

Tripps carved 49 separate chances for Tottenham throughout the season, showing that he still has plenty to offer the North London side.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Trippier needs to improve defensively if he is to remain at Spurs, but I would certainly keep him on. In my opinion, Tottenham should sell Aurier, invest in a new right-back, and keep Tripps as a backup. The England man may be a liability at the back but in a back five he still has plenty to offer, as shown by the above stat.
