Kieran Trippier – Tottenham’s weak link?

Unfortunately, it isn’t a positive In Focus segment this evening, as Spurs fell to their sixth Premier League loss of the season against Manchester United United.

Tottenham came into the game as favourites, sitting third in the table, with the Red Devils down in sixth.

However, despite playing at home, Spurs found themselves on the wrong end of a 1-0 scoreline.

After a Trippier mistake on in the middle of the pitch, cheaply handing the ball to the opposition. Paul Pogba chipped a pinpoint ball through to a full-pace Marcus Rashford who made no mistake with his finish.

The right-back had already offered up some pretty sloppy passes in the opening periods before this killer mistake that proved to decide the entire game.

While he threw some testing crosses into the box, his delivery did not outweigh the defensive liability.

Trippier will need to improve his defensive game in the coming weeks if he hopes to keep his first team place, as he was Tottenham’s weak link by far today. Serge Aurier and Kyle-Walker Peters should be knocking on Pochettino’s door in the morning.
