Kim Min-jae comments on transfer rumours amid Spurs and Man Utd links

Rumoured Tottenham target, Kim Min-jae, has rubbished the speculation over his future, insisting that he is focused on doing well for Napoli this season.

Kim has been a revelation since arriving at Naples last summer, with the Serie A club looking destined to get their hands on the Scudetto while also going strong in the Champions League.

The South Korean’s solid displays at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium have reportedly caught the attention of several Premier League clubs, including Tottenham.

Football Insider claimed last week that Spurs are ready to reignite their interest in the 26-year-old, having seen their efforts to sign him in January being buffed by Napoli.

The report claimed that the North London club could consider activating the £43m release clause in Kim’s contract, which will be active for two weeks in July.

The publication added that the Lilywhites could face competition for the centre-back’s signature from Manchester United, who are also keen on snapping up the player.

However, Kim has now seemingly poured cold water on the rumours by describing them as ‘nonsense’.

When asked about the speculation over his future, the Napoli star said (via Fabrizio Romano): “I can’t be bothered by transfer rumours because they aren’t true.

“Now I’m focusing on the team and on the Champions League, rather than that kind of nonsense.”

Napoli are likely going to be crowned Serie A champions this season and also have a great chance of going all the way in the Champions League, given how the draw has panned out.

So, I do not see why the 26-year-old will be desperate to leave Naples after just one season.
