Jurgen Klinsmann shares his view on the situation at Spurs which is ‘frustrating’ him

Jurgen Klinsmann has claimed that Harry Kane’s teammates at Tottenham will have been left frustrated by the lack of clarity around the striker’s future.

It was reported last week that Kane did not show up for pre-season training when he was expected to on Monday in an alleged attempt to force through a move to Manchester City.

However, the striker has denied ever refusing to train, insisting the plan was always for him to return when he did on Saturday.

The 28-year-old is currently self-isolating in The Lodge at Hotspur Way and is expected to begin training with his teammates on Thursday.

Some sources have claimed Kane’s statement about never refusing to train has left his Spurs teammates baffled.

With just a few days to go until Tottenham’s season opener, there still remains a big question mark over the striker’s future.

Klinsmann insisted the England captain’s future needs to be sorted out quickly one way or the other as his Spurs teammates wish to move on.

The former Tottenham striker told ESPN: “Absolutely, it’s frustrating. It’s frustrating for his teammates as well because they want to move on.

“They want to have a clear idea of whether Harry Kane stays on board or not. He’s the captain of the team.

“He’s the captain of England and he just got them into the Euro finals against Italy, so it’s a huge, huge decision.

“Therefore, also for him, if he remains at White Hart Lane then hopefully he remains with 100% of his mindset because it’s going to be difficult for him going into a new season.

“If they don’t win right from the beginning or stay in the top four in the Premier League then he will lose focus and quality. Then times runs out and he’s not the youngest anymore.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I, like many Spurs fans, have lost a lot of respect for Kane over recent months due to the way he has gone about engineering a move away.

His decision to give an interview to Gary Neville expressing his intention to leave served as a huge distraction for the team towards the end of last season.

The striker’s antics over the past couple of weeks do not do his Spurs teammates or Nuno any favours going into the first few games of the season.
