Kranjcar wants FA Cup glory

Niko Kranjcar has set his sights on winning the FA Cup again, claiming that achieving that with Portsmouth was ‘the greatest day of his life.’

Kranjcar was part of the Portsmouth team that defeated Cardiff in 2008 to lift the trophy under the guidance of Harry Redknapp.

Now with Spurs taking on Bolton tonight in a fifth round replay, the Croatian is hoping to take Spurs all the way to Wembley and taste that success again.

Kranjcar told the Tottenham Hotspur official website, “To win a major trophy like the FA Cup is a day I’ll never forget. It was the greatest day of my football life, especially club wise.

“It’s why you play football, to get into major finals and win trophies.

“I hope we can achieve the same with Spurs and I really believe we have the squad and the quality to achieve that this season.”

Kranjcar is aware of the threat Bolton pose to his dream however, with his arrival from the bench key to helping Spurs turn around the original tie with Spurs trailing.

“Throughout the years, Bolton has always been a tough place to go and we’re delighted we were able to bring the tie home and we believe we have a massive chance to go forward now.

It’s a great opportunity for us. We all know how important the FA Cup is, so hopefully we can produce the right result.”
