Kulusevski sums up Romero’s performance against Chelsea in one word

Dejan Kulusevski has described Crisitan Romero as an ‘animal’ after the Argentine’s display against Chelsea on Sunday.

Tottenham restricted Chelsea to barely any chances throughout the 90 minutes yesterday, with Fraser Forster enjoying a fairly straight-forward afternoon.

The Spurs goalkeeper has Romero to thank for making his job easy, with the 24-year-old not letting the likes of Joao Felix and Kai Havertz have a kick inside the box.

The Tottenham man played with typical aggression and it is certainly no coincidence that the Lilywhites have improved defensively since he has been back from suspension (against Leicester).

The World Cup winner took to Instagram after the 2-0 win to thank the fans for their support and called on his teammates to continue on the vein.

The likes of Pedro Porro, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Bryan Gil responded with emojis to the post but it was Kulusevski who had the aptest response, with the Swede simply writing ‘Animal’.

Romero was well short of his best in the first half of the season but that might have been down to him having the World Cup on the back of his mind.

Over the last few weeks, the 24-year-old has demonstrated the sort of form we saw from him last season, which makes a huge difference to Spurs as a defensive unit.
