Kyle Walker has praised Son Heung-min as a player and a person, insisting that all top players go through bad periods of form, like the one the South Korean is enduring right now.
Tottenham fans are so used to Son regularly scoring 20 goals or more almost every year, which is why his dip in form this season has come as a massive shock.
While the forward has still found the back of the net nine times across all competitions in the 2022-23 season, only five of those have come in the Premier League (Transfermarkt).
In fact, Son has netted four of those five league goals when he has come on as a substitute, which is perhaps why Antonio Conte and his coaching staff have made the decision to bench him in favour of Richarlison for the last two league matches.
Kyle Walker was in the studio on Wednesday to preview the FA Cup clash between his two former clubs, Spurs and Sheffield United, and he waxed lyrical on Son’s partnership with Harry Kane ahead of kick-off.
The City star told BBC One on Match of the Day (01/03/23 at 7:50 pm): “I think it’s their (Kane and Son’s) link-up play.

“As you can see through many years how many times they look for each other.
“Their movements for each other and selflessness. And they are good finishers. Harry’s done it year in and year out.
“Okay, Sonny’s gone in for a little bit of bad form. But he’s a fantastic player.
“What a great guy he is to have around the place. He’s probably one of the nicest men I have met in football.”
