Hueng-min Son is a genuine superstar, particularly in his homeland of South Korea, as Kyle Walker found out during a visit to the country when he accompanied Son and other Spurs players years back.

Since joining Spurs in 2015, Son has gone on to become one of the club’s greatest-ever players and one of the all-time top goalscorers in Tottenham’s history.
He was named Tottenham captain last summer by new boss, Ange Postecoglou, and has led the side admirably this season both on and off the pitch.
Son has also been an incredible leader for his country, making 122 appearances for South Korea over the years, scoring 44 goals (Transfermarkt).

South Korean fans adore Heung-min Son
There’s an argument to be had that Son might be the most famous person in South Korea, at least in the sporting world. And Kyle Walker found that out in mind-blowing fashion when he toured the country with his teammate a few years ago.
On his podcast, Walker said: “I went to South Korea with Sonny and I have never seen anything like it. He’s so nice. We would do an appearance, it was like me, Kevin Wimmer, Ben Davies and Sonny. We were like the jokers.
“And we would have to send a dummy vehicle pretending that Sonny had gone and all these people would corner the vehicle, stop it, and then realise Sonny wasn’t in there and we’d be away. But then they would come back to the hotel we were staying and all night they would stay out there.
“I had seen Rooney, Lampard, and Beckham to a certain degree like that but he was beyond them.”
Spurs Web Opinion
I love seeing Sonny meeting his fans, because he genuinely looks just as happy as they are. He’s a superstar, but he’s never let that status go to his head and change who he is.
