Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a major boost after expressing interest in a formal Real Madrid attacker.
Over the last few weeks, Spurs Web has relayed a number of reports claiming that Tottenham are prioritising signing a wide-forward in January.
In the last few days, one versatile winger, who can also operate as a number ten, has been heavily linked with a move to N17.
It has been reported by a number of outlets that Tottenham are plotting a move for Real Sociedad star Takefusa Kubo, who has a £52m release clause in his contract.

Real Sociedad’s stance on Tottenham target Takefusa Kubo revealed
Spurs have now been handed a boost in their pursuit of the Japan international, with a report in COPE Gipuzkoa revealing that the player is available for sale in January.
The outlet claims that Real Sociedad may welcome Tottenham’s interest in Kubo as they need money to balance their books.
The La Liga club are expected to sell players in January, with the former Real Madrid man seen as one of their most saleable assets.
This information is backed up by another update from Mundo Deportivo Gipuzkoa (via Sport Witness), but the outlet asserts that Sociedad will only let Kubo leave if the player’s £52m release clause is not met.
This is because Real Madrid have a 50 per cent sell-on clause for the player, which means half of the transfer fee will be pocketed by Los Blancos.
What is Kubo thinking about his future?
Spurs are not alone in their admiration for the 24-year-old, with reports indicating Tottenham could face competition from Liverpool and Aston Villa for Kubo’s signature.
However, it has been suggested by journalist Pete O’Rourke that Kubo would be keen on joining Spurs if the opportunity presented itself in January.
O’Rourke added that the £52m price tag may be the only stumbling block, and that is especially relevant in light of reports that Tottenham can now land Antoine Semenyo for £65m in January.
