La Liga expert reveals what those in Spain are saying about Harry Kane

Alvaro Montero, a La Liga expert, told Sky Sports in an interview this week that people in Spain are discussing the possibility of Harry Kane joining Pep Guardiola at Man City (18/05/21).

The transfer expert went on to claim that Barcelona and Real Madrid would not likely be putting their names in the hat to sign the Spurs striker this summer.

Montero claimed that Barcelona are more interested in Sergio Aguero and Memphis Depay than Tottenham’s Kane and that Madrid would prefer Mbappe or Haaland.

Therefore, he added that the feeling in Spain is that Kane will eventually remain in the Premier League and join Manchester City following their recent title win.

It was reported earlier this week that Kane has expressed a desire to leave North London this summer and the player himself told Gary Neville on The Overlap Podcast that he was at a crossroads in his career and wanted to have a conversation with the club.

Montero said (as relayed by HITC): “Well after that information from Sky Sports about Harry Kane, we had to ask about two giants, especially Barcelona.

“As far as I know, two players which are above Harry Kane about the intentions of the club. One is Sergio Aguero and the second one is Depay.

“Although, we know it’s Ronald Koeman’s desire (to sign Aguero and Depay) and it’s possible that he doesn’t continue to stay in Barcelona.

“And as for Real Madrid, it’s almost impossible. I would say it’s almost 100% that he’s not going to sign for Real Madrid because they want first Mbappe or Haaland.

“That’s the problem, the amount of money they would have to spend because let’s remember in the next week, Barcelona has to pay £700 million and more than 1bn for the next year. And it’s going to be very difficult if they want to buy new players.

“Once you ask inside the club, the feeling inside Barcelona and especially in Spain is that Kane is going to stay in the Premier League. And here in Spain, we are talking about Manchester City as the next team.”
