La Liga expert wants Spurs to make a move for winger with 20 goal contributions

La Liga expert Terry Gibson has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur would be quite tempted to make a move for Athletic Bilbao star Nico Willams this summer.

Williams is having an exceptional season at San Mames, with six goals and 14 assists across all competitions so far this season (Transfermarkt). The youngster played a key role in the club’s historic Copa del Rey win and his performances are seemingly turning a lot of heads.

Tottenham’s interest in the 21-year-old first came to light back in February when Dean Jones revealed in his column on Sports Lens that the Lilywhites and Aston Villa were both keeping tabs on the youngster.

Last month, TEAMtalk asserted that Spurs would have to battle their London rivals Chelsea for the Athletic Club star, with the Spaniard alleged to be a long-term target for the Blues.

It was subsequently asserted by GiveMeSport a few weeks ago that the Spain international had expressed an interest in leaving his boyhood club this summer as Tottenham continues to circle.

Should Tottenham move for Nico Williams?

Gibson has now taken to social media to reveal that Willams has a €50m (£43m) release clause in his contract, suggesting that Spurs will find it to be ‘appealing’.

Williams would be an exceptional signing for Spurs but with Son and Werner already at the club, perhaps Ange would prefer to sign someone who is more comfortable playing on the right wing such as Raphinha.
