Lamela reveals how Lo Celso is adapting to UK life – ‘We are together all the time’

Spurs midfielder Erik Lamela has confirmed he is helping new signing Giovani Lo Celso adapt to life in North London. Both players are from Argentina and have similar styles of play, so this appears to be a perfect match.

Lamela told Sky Sports, as quoted by Tribal Football: “We are together all the time because I’m helping him. I’m happy he’s here.

“His English is not the best at the moment. It is improving and his English will get better quickly. I remember when I arrived my English was the same, it was difficult for me. So, I am close to him to help him with everything.”

Lamela has had an inconsistent Spurs career, showing flashes of brilliance at times but has struggled to put together a solid run of form due to injuries.

However, he has the opportunity here to build a good connection with Lo Celso, which could benefit both players on and off the pitch.

Maybe the two are spending too much time together, however, as Lo Celso seems to have picked up Lamela’s bad luck with injuries and is out till October with a hip injury. Hopefully, when he returns from this injury he will be well settled in the capital and ready to go.

Having Lamela help Lo Celso can only be a good thing. Lamela understands what it’s like moving to this country. He can also help integrate Lo Celso with the rest of the squad to ensure he enjoys his time in England.
