Lawro predicts Spurs to beat Bolton in FA Cup

Harry Redknapp - Tottenham Hotspur News

BBC football pundit Mark Lawrenson has predicted that Tottenham Hotspur will beat Bolton Wanderers in the FA Cup on Saturday evening.

Spurs welcome Owen Coyle’s strugglers to the Lane and Harry Redknapp will be looking to get back to winning ways after losing three on the bounce.

I must admit, I’m more nervous than I should be about this game after the way we have been playing and also recent tactics too!  It’s the perfect opportunity for us to regain some confidence ahead of some big Premier League games.

He told BBC Sport Online: “Bolton got a good win last week and they have been difficult for the club to come by this season. A lack of technology might have helped them but a win is a win and it will have given them a great fillip.

“They got to the semi-final last season but got done 5-0 by Stoke and, while they might be thinking they can get back to Wembley and abolish those memories, you never really do.

“The Premier League is the priority for them and if you told Bolton fans they would lose to Tottenham but stay in the Premier League they would snap your hand off.

“Tottenham should really have got a point in the 1-0 loss at Everton last time out as they dominated the second half.

“There is an argument that they are chasing a place in the Champions League with a top four Premier League finish but they will want to win this competition. Tottenham fans love a cup final, don’t they?

“Spurs have lost the last three league games but I don’t think that’s because they have been affected by talk of manager Harry Redknapp taking over as England manager but more that they have had some tough games by playing Manchester United, Arsenal and an on-form Everton. It’s only a blip.

“Harry has been there before and Tottenham are the team to beat in the FA Cup as they have the most potent attack left in the competition.

“Lawro’s prediction: 2-0.”
