Lawro predicts Spurs to draw with Chelsea

White Hart Lane

BBC football pundit Mark Lawrenson has predicted that Tottenham Hotspur will draw with Chelsea tonight at White Hart Lane.

It’s always a good omen when Lawro doesn’t back us for a win, so fingers crossed we can take all three points against our London rivals this evening.

He told BBC Sport Online: “Tottenham managed to get over the line against Sunderland by sneaking a 1-0 win, but with Gareth Bale doubtful for the game and Aaron Lennon being out for a while, it will make a difference to their side.

“When you don’t have that pace in the wide areas, teams are able to get back and regroup into position and make it more difficult.

“Some of the Chelsea players didn’t look like they fancied it at Wigan, which was surprising. It was as though they had beaten City and thought: “It’s only Wigan, we can go roll them over”.

“As good as Didier Drogba has been recently, he just didn’t work hard enough for the team so we’ll see if Andre Villas-Boas sticks with him. This is a massive game because I feel Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool are all playing for third and fourth spot in the table.

“Prediction: 1-1.”
