Lawro predicts Spurs to draw with Man City

Harry Redknapp - Tottenham Hotspur News

BBC football pundit Mark Lawrenson has predicted that Tottenham Hotspur will draw with Manchester City on Sunday.

He told BBC Sport Online: “I was at Old Trafford on Monday to watch Tottenham against Manchester United and, although they were well beaten in the end, for an hour Spurs did very well in what was an even game.

“But I am not convinced by Jake Livermore and Niko Krancjar as a central midfield partnership and I am sure Harry Redknapp cannot wait for some of his players who operate there regularly to return from injury.

“He could do with them against Manchester City too, because Spurs need to play with the same sort of attacking intensity that you expect from them at White Hart Lane.

“Up front, I would expect Redknapp to change things, because I cannot believe he will continue with just Rafael van der Vaart and Jermain Defoe. He needs somebody else up there.

“Manchester City keep the ball so well that you need to take the game to them to beat them, so Tottenham have to be positive.

“We will find out a lot about City boss Roberto Mancini’s attitude from the way he sets his side up.

“Mancini was more ambitious than usual in last week’s win over Bolton, but it is in games like this one that we will find out whether he is really going to take the handbrake off or not.

“Will Mancini play Samir Nasri and David Silva together? I can see a case for it, and Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero too. Why not? They are all such good players.

“Prediction: 1-1.”
