Ledley King sends classy Tweet to Spurs teenager after win against West Brom

Ledley King has sent Dane Scarlett a classy message on social media following the youngster’s appearance for Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.

King, who made 318 appearances in all competitions for the North Londoners (transfermarkt) is now the club’s first-team assistant after joining Jose Mourinho’s backroom staff in the summer.

Mourinho included 16-year-old Dane Scarlett among his substitutes in yesterday’s 2-0 win against West Bromwich Albion and gave the teenager his first taste of Premier League action when he came off the bench in the 90th minute in place of goalscorer Heung-min Son.

After the match in North London, King congratulated the young forward, who at 16 years and 320 days old became the club’s youngest-ever player to take to the field in a Premier League fixture.

The former Spurs skipper advised Scarlett that he has no better role model available to him to look up to than Harry Kane.

The England skipper returned to the Spurs side following his ankle injury and scored the first goal of the game against the Baggies.
