Ledley King sends message to Spurs player who left on deadline day

Ledley King has wished Dele Alli the best of luck in the next chapter of his career at Everton.

Alli seemed destined to leave Tottenham in January after seemingly not being fancied by Antonio Conte but the midfielder had to wait until late on deadline day to get his move.

Everton swooped for the Tottenham man in a deal that would see the Toffees pay £10m to Spurs after the 25-year-old plays 20 games (The Telegraph).

However, according to other sources, there are plenty of add-ons in the agreement that could take the fee to as high as £33m (Fabrizio Romano).

Alli will be hoping to get his career back on track following a difficult couple of seasons at Spurs, where he looked a shadow of the player that he was in his first three years in North London under Mauricio Pochettino.

The England international has admitted that he is looking forward to working with Frank Lampard, who he admired as a player (Sky Sports).

Here’s how King reacted when Alli’s move to Goodison Park was confirmed:

Spurs Web Opinion

The way Dele’s Spurs career petered out towards the end is quite sad considering just how good he was during his first three years at the club.

However, I believe the majority of Tottenham fans will remember the 25-year-old for the amazing memories he gave us rather than for the way things ended for him.

I expect Dele to get an amazing reception from Spurs fans when Everton visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in March.
