Lee Dixon mocks Spurs on Twitter after Leicester defeat

Tottenham 2-1 defeat to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon was a major set back to the club’s aspirations of competing with the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool this season.

The team’s defensive fragility in their travels continued as they surrendered a lead for the third away game in a row.

While VAR’s decision to disallow Serge Aurier’s goal midway into the second half was the turning point in the game, Mauricio Pochettino would have been left concerned with the team’s late capitulation.

While it is still extremely early in the season, a win for Liverpool against Chelsea on Sunday will see the league leaders build up a 10 point lead over the Lilywhites already.

Tottenham’s North London rivals, Arsenal also have the opportunity to move three points clear of Spurs when they take on Aston Villa at the Emirates this afternoon.

Former Arsenal defender Lee Dixon was naturally quite pleased with Spurs’ slip up yesterday and took to social media to react to James Maddison’s late winner for Leicester.

Spurs Web Opinion

While the defeat against Leicester was certainly hard to take, I honestly believe that the team put in a decent performance at a ground where many top teams will struggle this season. Tottenham have usually tended to start the season slowly under Pochettino and I still expect the team to come good as the season goes on and retain 3rd spot in the Premier League.
