Report: Spurs defender keen on exit; £10-£15m offer should be enough to depart

Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to sanction the sale of central defender Joe Rodon to Leeds United this summer, according to Football Insider.

The Welsh international was at Tottenham for the start of the Ange Postecoglou era this summer and was part of the pre-season tour to Asia-Pacific, but soon found himself surplus to requirements under the Australian.

Rodon made the switch to Leeds in early August and has been a mainstay in their defence as they look to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking following relegation last season.

Rodon, who spent last season on loan at Rennes in France, playing 16 times, is now wanted by Leeds on a permanent basis.

Leeds will have to pay between £10-15million to buy Joe Rodon

The report claims that Leeds, who are currently in second place behind Leicester City in the Championship will have to part with a transfer fee of between £10-£15million to land the former Swansea City player should they return to the top flight.

Rodon is said to be enjoying his time at Elland Road, where there is a large Welsh contingent of players and wants to seal a permanent switch away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

A permanent exit for Rodon is definitely on the cards this summer considering he was allowed to leave on loan ahead of the likes of fellow Tottenham first team squad members Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier who had both seen game time under Postecoglou prior to their exits.

Postecoglou has moved to bring in the likes of Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin, who are both fast, ball-playing central defenders while Rodon is more of a traditional centre half.
