Dennis Cirkin became the latest player to head out of the exit door at Tottenham Hotspur after he sealed a move to Sunderland yesterday evening.
The 19-year-old had been with the North Londoners since he was nine and posted a classy tribute to the club on Instagram, taking the time to explain why he has decided to join the League One side.
Cirkin has penned a three-year contract with the Black Cats, arriving on Wearside for an undisclosed fee.
The left-back caught the eye of Jose Mourinho soon after the Portuguese took over in November 2019, describing Cirkin ‘a kid with a lot of quality’ and invited him to train with the first team after signing his first professional deal (Football.London).

Cirkin has a bright future in the game, but unfortunately had some tough competition ahead of him at Spurs in Sergio Reguilon, Ben Davies and Ryan Sessegnon.
It’s a brave call for him to go and make the move north, when he could have easily stayed in his comfort zone in London and continued playing Under-23 football at Spurs.
