‘Let him cook’ – Dragusin hails Tottenham transfer target after impressive display

Radu Dragusin has taken to social media to praise his former Genoa teammate Albert Gudmundsson after the rumoured Tottenham target scored a hattrick for Iceland in their Euro qualifier against Israel on Thursday.

Given the kind of performances that Gudmundsson has delivered at Genoa this season, it looks inevitable that the attacking midfielder will make a big move at the end of the season.

Over the last few weeks, several Italian publications have reported that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in the 26-year-old’s services and are set to battle the likes of Juventus for the player (Tuttosport).

Just a couple of days ago, the print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness) claimed that Spurs could also face competition from Inter Milan for the versatile attacker, who was alleged to be valued at €30m (£25.6m).

On Thursday, Gudmundsson demonstrated just why there is so much interest in him, netting a hat trick to help Iceland overcome Israel 4-1 in the Euro qualifier. That means that the Nordic nation are now just 90 minutes of football away from booking a place in the big tournament in Germany this summer.

Dragusin, who will be at the Euros with Romania, was thrilled by Gudmundsson’s display and tagged him with a graphic of the result on Instagram stories along with the caption: ‘Let him cook’.

Perhaps Dragusin’s presence at Tottenham could potentially prove an advantage for their North London club in their pursuit of Gudmundsson.

The Romanian appears to be enjoying his time at the club and he could put in a good word to his former colleague about how life under Postecoglou at Hotspur Way is.
