The third round draw of the Carabao Cup took place this evening with Tottenham Hotspur entering the competition at this stage.

Spurs were ball number six in the draw and have been pulled out to take on Colchester United.

The tie will be played at the JobServe Community Stadium where Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be looking to have another good run in the competition.

The match is scheduled to be played in the week commencing 23 September.

Last season, Spurs came one match short of making it to the final after suffering a penalty shootout defeat to London rivals Chelsea.

The second leg at Stamford Bridge certainly sticks in the memory after the horrendous mix up between Kieran Trippier and Hugo Lloris which led to an embarrassing own goal.

Pochettino recently suggested that winning a trophy this season will make it a success (talkSPORT).

Here’s how some Spurs fans have reacted to the draw on Twitter.
