Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen was seen waving to the fans after the final whistle against Liverpool this evening and some Spurs fans think it could be the midfielder saying goodbye.
The Danish international has been a great player for Spurs in the six and a half years he has spent at the club after arriving from Ajax in the summer of 2013.
The 27-year-old’s contract with the club will run out at the end of the current season and he has been linked with a move away this month (Sky Sports).
Eriksen was handed a start against Liverpool and flattered to deceive for the majority of the game before being taken off early in the second half.
After the final whistle, he was seen waving to towards the stand. Some Spurs saw this as Eriksen saying goodbye to the fans in what could be his last home game for Spurs.

What a way to leave. Instead of leaving a legacy fans have turned on him.

Im gutted its ending like this. He has been amazing for us for years. Sadly he will be remembered for the last 12 months.

Nah looks like he’s waving to someone rather than a goodbye wave tbf

It’s a sad end to his Spurs career if it is. I genuinely loved the guy for 90% of his time with us. He made the difference and scored important goals so many times!
It’s such a pity the lacklustre performances of late will overshadow majority of his time with us ☹️

I hope so, great player in his day but now he just doesn't want to be at the club.

That wave was about as enthusiastic as his performances this season

Let's hope so! ??

Let’s hope so, he was a passenger again today and I don’t understand why he keeps getting in the starting XI

He gave his shirt to fans in the Danish corner. Nice touch. Could be his last time here

Spurs Web Opinion
Of course, it could well be that he was just waving to a family member or a friend in the ground. However, it is clear that he isn’t going to sign a new contract at this point and so it will be in the best interest of the club to get rid of him this month.
