If reports in the press are to be believed, Tottenham are set to strengthen their squad considerably this summer, after failing to sign a single player in the last few transfer windows (The Sun).
Central midfield is one of the areas the club wishes to prioritise with Mauricio Pochettino reportedly identifying Real Betis’ Giovani Lo Celso and Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele as the two main targets (Football.London).
Sky Sport Italia reported a couple of days ago that Tottenham launched a bid worth €45m plus bonuses for the 22-year-old but that it was rejected by Lyon. It was suggested that Spurs will return with an improved offer for the French international.
It has emerged today that Ndombele has told Telefoot that he is interested in a move to Spurs.
When asked about the rumours linking him with the Lilywhites, the midfielder reportedly said to Telefoot: ” “Tottenham are a great team, a big club. They finished fourth in their league and reached the Champions League final. They are a big club and what player would not be interested by a big club? ”
These comments have gotten some Spurs fans on social media really excited with many urging Daniel Levy to complete the deal quickly:
Levy finish off the business.

Spurs Web Opinion
While Ndombele is likely to be pretty expensive given his exploits in the last couple of seasons, he is exactly the type of player that Spurs are crying out for in central midfield.
We at Spurs Web feel the club should do everything in their power to try and land the 22-year-old.
