‘Levy has played a blinder’ – Some Spurs react to reports that club want Joe Rodon

Tottenham Hotspur fans on social media are divided over whether or not it would represent good business to sign Swansea City’s Joe Rodon after Spurs failed in their pursuit of Milan Skriniar.

Reports indicated that Inter Milan defender was Tottenham’s main centre-back target during the transfer window but the Lilywhites could not agree on a transfer fee with the Nerrazui for the Slovak (Fabrizio Romano).

The club then seemingly turned their attentions to Antonio Rudiger on deadline day (Football Insider) but the German international also decided to stay and fight for his place at Stamford Bridge (Football.London).

Reports now indicate that Rodon is the current centre-back on Tottenham’s radar, with Premier League clubs allowed to do business with EFL teams for eleven more days (Athletic).

Some Tottenham fans are convinced that signing the 22-year-old would be a fantastic coup as the Swansea man is destined for the top.

However, a few others were livid that the club had gone from pursuing a player of Skriniar’s quality to settling for a defender from the Championship.

They also questioned what Rodon’s arrival to North London would mean for Japhet Tanganga’s future:

Spurs Web Opinion

We have to trust Jose and the club’s recruitment team know what they are doing here if they have indeed identified Rodon as the man they want. I would personally prefer for us to wait until January and make another attempt to sign Skriniar but it looks like Jose is keen to add another centre-back to his squad.
