Levy in talks with Valencia over Mata deal

Juan Mata - Tottenham Hotspur News

Daniel Levy is dealing with Tottenham’s hopes of signing Valencia winger Juan Mata.

Valencia are keen to hold onto the Spanish international, but as we reported earlier Mata’s contract has a  €21m release clause.

Arsenal are also very interest in landing the 23-year-old.

“The chairman has been dealing with it,” said Redknapp after Spurs’ pre-season friendly win at Brighton.

“He is a player we like, obviously, so do Arsenal, so do a few other clubs, but where it’s all at I don’t know.

“He’s a player I went and saw when England played Spain Under 21s and I thought he looked fantastic.

“Whether anything happens I wouldn’t be sure, the chairman is the only person who has been dealing with those transfers.”

    • I don’t recall anyone saying our interest is media hype. What was said was that a sum of £21m is bullshit. Which is true – his realrase clause us for £14m, we don’t have £21m and even if we did we wouldnt spend it on a plater that could be signed for £14m, what with our club not being run by kenny dalgleish.

  1. What he means is he is not coming now! he is going to the gypo scum, but it makes us look like we are going for high quality players which is fair enough.
As soon as a team in the champions league come along offering £100k a week plus then hes heading there!
