Report: Levy’s stance on Harry Kane revealed after striker speaks on his Spurs future

Harry Kane will not be allowed to leave Tottenham this summer despite hinting that he might think about an exit if he believes the club is no longer moving in the right direction, according to a report in Football Insider.

Kane admitted in a live interview with former Spurs midfielder Jamie Redknapp on Instagram that despite his love for Spurs, he will not continue to stick around if the team is not competing for honours.

There has been a lot of speculation surrounding the 26-year-old’s future in recent weeks with Manchester United Evening Standard), Juventus (Tuttosport) and Real Madrid (Diario Madridista) all said to be interested in signing him.

Some Spurs fans on social media feared that the striker might ask to leave and have urged Levy to spend big in the transfer market to convince Kane that his future lies in North London.

However, Football Insider claim that Levy has no plans on cashing in on the striker. With his contract running until 2024, it is suggested that the club do not believe there is a realistic chance of him leaving this summer.

It is suggested the club will look to hold him to his contract and give him the platform to achieve his trophy ambitions in North London.

The report also claims that the England captain is privately valued at over £200 million by Spurs, even though they have no intention of selling him.

Spurs Web Opinion

I don’t think Kane’s statement was surprising as it would have been quite naive of him to say he wishes to stay at the club for the rest of his career regardless of how they are doing. There is no chance of him leaving this summer but we need to prove our ambition to him by bringing world-class players in.
