Ligue 1 club boss refuses to rule out sale of centre back linked with Spurs

Strasbourg manager, Thierry Laurey, has admitted that Mohamed Simakan, who has been linked with a move to Spurs, could be on his way out of the club this summer.

The 19-year-old has impressed both at centre-back and right-back since breaking into the Strasbourg team this season. Those are two positions in which Spurs are said to be looking for reinforcements this summer (Sky Sports).

RMC Sport revealed last month that Tottenham were one of several European sides tracking the young defender with the likes of Everton, Southampton, AC Milan, RB Leipzig, and Borussia Dortmund also said to be interested.

Meanwhile, Simakan’s agent, Badou Sambage, admitted last week that Real Betis, Sevilla, and Valencia have all made approaches for the Frenchman (Transfer20).

It certainly looks as if the Lilywhites would have considerable competition for the Strasbourg star, who is said to be available for £13 million this summer.

When asked if he wants to keep the teenager, the Strasbourg boss told 20 minutes: “Him and others! Today, we have a coherent team so I don’t want to let anyone go. But if someone has to leave us, we will adapt.”

Spurs Web Opinion

We are reportedly prioritising moves for young players this summer and, given that Simakan can play both at right-back and centre-back, he fits the profile of what we need. However, I doubt he is on the top of our list of targets. A lot of young players like Simakan are going to be available this summer.
