Lille manager seems to take dig at Tottenham during interview

Tottenham Hotspur not only decided to part ways with Mauricio Pochettino last month, but they also waved goodbye to his entire backroom staff.

It is pretty common for managers to stick with the same assistant managers, coaches, and wider teams as they move from club to club.

This meant that Jose Mourinho, who had been out of work for almost a year, had to appoint his own backroom staff after joining Spurs.

Tow figures he decided to bring in early were Lille coaches Joao Sacramento and Nuno Santos, with the former becoming the Spurs assistant manager.

Of course, while this was a win for Jose and Tottenham, it was a huge blow to Lille in the French league, as they unexpectedly lost two key figures.

Asked whether striker Victor Osimhen could leave in January, Lille manager Christophe Galtier seemed to take a dig at Spurs for poaching two of his staff.

He said (BeIn Sports). “Will Victor Osimhen stay until the end of the season? Yes, I believe so.

“But in football, nothing is safe. I can confirm this with regard to the weeks I have just had.”
