Line Up: Liverpool v Spurs – Striker dropped

Ryan Mason has named his Tottenham Hotspur side which will take to the field in this afternoon’s Premier League clash against Liverpool.

Mason kicked off his second interim stint as head coach having come from 2-0 behind to draw 2-2 against Manchester United on Thursday night and now face a tough test at Anfield.

Club captain Hugo Lloris remains sidelined with the muscular injury he sustained in the 6-1 thrashing at Newcastle United with Fraser Forster continuing to deputise in goal.

The defence continues to be a problem for the north Londoners, who have conceded 31 away league goals this season, their most in a single campaign since letting in 35 in 2008-09.

They have only managed to keep two league clean sheets outside of London this season, doing so in victories at Nottingham Forest and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Mason was asked at Friday’s press conference about the prospect of leading his side at Anfield.

He told Football.London: “I’ve played there, I know what it’s like. Playing football and coaching in England is special, wherever I go, because it’s the country that I’m born in, the country that I love, and I feel like it’s the best country in the world to be involved in football with.

“So from a personal point of view, the biggest pride I have is representing this football club, it’s not going up to compete against anyone else, it’s the fact that I’m here and I’m trying to help the club as best as possible.”
