Line Up: Tottenham v Nice – Emerson Royal starts; Son on bench

Antonio Conte has named his Tottenham Hotspur side which will take to the field in this evening’s mid-season friendly against Nice in north London.

With the Premier League set to return on Boxing Day when Spurs make the short trip across London to face Brentford, the match against their French opponents represents the last chance for the players to put their hands up for selection at the Bees.

With Cristian Romero and Hugo Lloris among those who are yet to return following their involvement at the World Cup in Qatar, some players will be hoping to build on the game time they received in the recent 4-0 win against Motherwell at Hotspur Way. Eric Dier is named among the substitutes following his return from England duty, however, there is no sign of Harry Kane.

Lucien Favre’s side head into the friendly in ninth place in Ligue 1, having won five of their opening fifteen fixtures and drawing a further five.
