Line Ups: Aston Villa v Tottenham – Postecoglou makes changes

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has named his team selection for this afternoon’s Premier League match against Aston Villa.

The North Londoners are looking to avoid back-to-back away league defeats against Villa for the first time since 2004.

Tottenham need to show improvement today, especially at the back, where they once again fell behind last weekend and had to rely on an inspirational performance from substitute Brennan Johnson to get them back into the game to beat Crystal Palace 3-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Villa were back in action on Thursday evening during their Europa League round of sixteen first leg against Ajax, where they were held to a 0-0 draw in Amsterdam.

Aston Villa vs Tottenham team news

Spurs certainly need to keep an eye on Ollie Watkins, who has scored 16 Premier League goals for Villa this season, his most in a single campaign

The result could prove to be pivotal in who manages to secure a top four finish and Champions League football next season; anything less than three points for Tottenham and it could be an uphill task.

This is who takes to the field at Villa Park this afternoon:

Aston Villa XI: Martínez, Torres, Konsa, Lenglet, Douglas Luiz, Digne, Cash, McGinn(c), Bailey, Tielemans, Watkins

Subs: Durán, Zaniolo, Moreno, Diaby, Diego Carlos, Iroegbunam, Kesler-Hayden, Rogers, Olsen

Spurs XI: Vicario, Udogie, Romero, Porro, van de Ven, Sarr, Kulusevski, Bissouma, Johnson, Maddison, Son(c)

Subs: Dragusin, Scarlett, Austin, Emerson Royal, Højbjerg, Werner, Lo Celso, Davies, Bentancur

COYS!
