Line Ups: Liverpool v Tottenham – Maddison benched again

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has named his side which will take to the field in this afternoon’s Premier League clash against Liverpool at Anfield.

A trip to Merseyside has not been a happy hunting ground for Tottenham with Liverpool‘s only defeat in their past 29 home league games against the North Londoners (W19, D9) coming in a 2-0 defeat in May 2011.

Spurs are in danger of losing four consecutive league matches for the first time since losing six in a row in October and November 2004 (three under Jacques Santini, three under Martin Jol).

Heading into this fixture they have suffered defeats against Newcastle United, Arsenal and more recently at Chelsea on Thursday evening.

Tottenham team news vs Liverpool

While recent form is a concern for Spurs, the fact we have only kept two clean sheets in the previous 25 Premier League matches is something which has to be addressed by Ange Postecoglou.

Tottenham enjoyed a late 2-1 win against Liverpool at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in September when the football was more fluid and a pleasure to watch.

This is who takes to the field at Anfield this afternoon:

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Quansah, van Dijk, Robertson, Elliott, Endo, Mac Allister, Salah, Gakpo, Díaz.

Subs: Kelleher, Bradley, Konate, Gomez, Szoboszlai, Gravenberch, Nunez, Jones, Bajcetic.

Tottenham XI: Vicario, Porro, Romero, van de Ven, Royal, Bentancur, Bissouma, Sarr, Kulusevski, Son, Johnson.

Subs: Austin, Skipp, Hojbjerg, Dragusin, Richarlison, Maddison, Gil, Lo Celso, Moore
