Line Ups: Wolves v Tottenham – Ange forced into changes

Ange Postecoglou has named his Tottenham Hotspur side which will take to the field in this afternoon’s Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Tottenham take to the field at Molineux in today’s early kick off on the back of an eventful match against Chelsea on Monday night which not only saw them suffer their first top flight defeat of the 2023/24 campaign, but also lose a number of key players.

Postecoglou has lost the services of Cristian Romero for the next three matches following his straight red card, while Destiny Udogie sits out today as a result of his one-match ban.

The bad news kept coming for Tottenham yesterday after it was revealed that James Maddison and Micky van de Ven have both been ruled out until next year with respective ankle and hamstring injuries (Sky Sports).

Richarlison also underwent an operation earlier this week in a bid to rectify a groin issue and will miss the next month, if all goes to plan.

Postecoglou told Sky Sports in yesterday’s pre-match press conference:

“Micky has a hamstring injury which we knew was fairly significant, a couple of months for him.

“Madders is a lot worse than we thought. Next day it wasn’t great, we sent him off for a scan, and probably we’re looking into the New Year.

Richarlison had the operation which we kind of scheduled anyway, he’s been battling with that since day one and the international break is coming up – he should be a month if everything goes well.

“We’ve got a couple of suspensions as well… But Ben Davies is back and available. Pedro Porro is fine and available.”

This is who takes to the field in the Black Country this afternoon:

Wolves: Sa; Semedo, Kilman, Dawson, Toti Gomes; Lemina, Joao Gomes, Bellegarde; Hwang Hee-chan, Ait-Nouri; Matheus Cunha.

Subs: Bentley, Jonny, H.Bueno, Doherty, Doyle, Traore, Sarabia, Silva, Kalajdzic.

Tottenham: Vicario; Porro, Dier, Davies, Emerson; Hojbjerg, Bissouma, Sarr; Kulusevski, Son, Johnson.
